Administration for Children and Families - ANA

The Administration for Native Americans (ANA) anticipates announcing the availability of funds and requesting applications for the AI3 Action Institute – Artificial Intelligence for American Indians. The successful applicant will establish the AI3 Action Institute, which will monitor the pace of AI change, identify responsible and practical opportunities to apply this technology to socioeconomic domains in Native communities, and support its thoughtful integration across Indian Country. Consistent with the Administration for Children and Families" (ACF) mission to strengthen families and promote work as the pathway to self-sufficiency, the Institute will leverage AI applications to accelerate economic development, workforce participation, community governance, and efficient service delivery. The primary goals are to (1) reduce the immense learning curve on behalf of hundreds of Native communities; (2) establish a bird"s-eye view to identify opportunities aligned with Tribal priorities and local leadership; (3) optimize deployment of this technology; (4) establish a knowledge manager to accumulate lessons learned and develop expertise and intuition; and (5) strengthen Tribal governance, while maximizing community capacity. Through this approach, the AI3 Action Institute will help ensure AI investments advance strong economies, strong families, and resilient Native communities.

Community Oriented Policing Services

The Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) is the component of the U.S. Department of Justice responsible for advancing the practice of community policing and the Administration’s priority of Making America Safe Again by supporting the nation’s state, local, territorial and Tribal law enforcement agencies through information and grant resources. The COPS Office seeks to expand law enforcement accreditation through this Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO). Community Policing Development – Accreditation Under this funding opportunity, the Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS Office) is seeking to establish new and support existing accreditation bodies in states or territories. Funding will focus on such activities as providing technical assistance to agencies, defraying or underwriting accreditation costs, improving customer service and marketing, and developing user-friendly policy templates.

Administration for Children and Families - ANA

The Administration for Native Americans (ANA), announces funds for a National Center for Native Training and Technical Assistance (the Center). The Center will be ANA"s primary provider of training and technical assistance (TTA). The goal is to build the capacity of ANA applicants and recipients to implement successful strategies and facilitate sustainable and successful outcomes that strengthen Native American communities. The beneficiaries of TTA are tribes and Native American communities, including American Indians, Alaska Natives, Native Hawaiians, and other Native Pacific Islander organizations and their partners. The Center will assist applicants and recipients to plan, develop, and implement community-driven projects aligned with ANA"s goals. The Center will also train communities on leveraging additional resources, complying with federal requirements, and sustaining projects past ANA funding. ANA expects the Center to use innovative and user-friendly solutions for providing TTA in both virtual and in-person formats. The Center will also focus on collecting data to better understand how beneficiaries interact with ANA"s TTA and how to improve the success of funded projects. The project will have a 36-month project period with three 12-month budget periods.

The Administration for Native Americans anticipates announcing the availability of funds and requesting applications for EAGLE: Economic Advancement Grants for Local Empowerment, supporting socioeconomic and cultural success for Native communities through business creation in regenerative agriculture, artificial intelligence, tribal energy sovereignty, and human capital development. The primary goals are to 1) support Native capacity, health, employability, and resourcefulness; 2) foster sustainable economic growth through job creation, infrastructure, and wealth-building; and 3) accelerate economic development and optimize governance. ANA intends to fully fund FY 2026 EAGLE awards for three years, with the NOFO including multiple Program Areas (PAs): Seventh-Generation Greenhouses to expand affordable, nutritious food production and local enterprise; Microgrids to enhance energy reliability, resilience, and independence; Welders to Elders to promote workforce development and community resilience; Tradition in Action A Native Elder Program to support cultural education, intergenerational knowledge transfer, and leadership pipelines; and Indigenous Designs to Empower and Advance Self-Determination (IDEAS) to enable community-designed solutions to priority needs.

Bureau of Land Management

The BLM and its partners inventory and mitigate abandoned mine hazards to protect public health and safety and the environment, and restore watersheds for recreation, fish, wildlife and domestic animals, manage air quality for the protection of public health and sensitive ecosystems, and return lands to productive uses including, but not limited to, recreation, fish and wildlife habitat, and preservation of historical/cultural resources. Extractive industry activities of the past, including underground and surface mining have contributed to degradation of natural resources. Unrestored sites pose a threat to the safety and health of public land users, as well as to wildlife, biota, groundwater, surface water, and soil resources.Inventory and mitigation measures are implemented through core programs such as the Abandoned Mine Lands (AML) program, which addresses physical safety hazards and contamination posing risks to human health and/or the environment. The BLM estimates there are over 160,000 abandoned mine features located on BLM-administered lands, many of which will need to be addressed further.The AML program identifies and inventories abandoned hardrock mines, prioritizes those mines that pose a risk to public safety, human health, and the environment, and seeks funding to address those high-risk mine features and sites. Specifically, the AML program addresses physical safety hazards through performing NEPA, including cultural and biological surveys, a variety of closure methods including fencing, signing, back-filling, installation of bat-friendly grates, etc., and addresses risks to human health and the environment through a variety of removal and remedial response actions. The AML program also work to restore abandoned hardrock mines sites and restore the Nation's watersheds impacted by abandoned mines through a risk-reduction based watershed approach that uses partnerships to effectively leverage funding and facilitate projects; and reduces environmental degradation caused by abandoned mines to ensure compliance with all applicable soil, water, and air quality standards, and applicable Federal, State, Tribal, and local laws and regulations. For the NRDAR program, and any actions taken pursuant to BLM"s authority under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act, potentially responsible parties must be investigated.The BLM seeks to develop partnerships with States, local governments, Tribal Nations, and voluntary environmental and citizen groups. In addition, BLM seeks to return lands to productive uses including, but not limited to, recreation, fish and wildlife habitat, and preservation of historical/cultural resources. These partnerships will provide financial assistance, through cooperative agreements to protect surface water, groundwater, soil, sediment and air from abandoned mine sites, address releases of hazardous substances, safeguard dangerous mine sites, and restore sites.

Wildland Fire Fuels Management and Community Assistance Program activities embody strategic investments in managing vegetation by reducing the intensity, severity, or negative effects of wildfire. These initiatives provide cost-effective benefits to the American people, help maintain and support communities in becoming fire adapted. Program activities include developing local capacities through assessment and planning, community and homeowner mitigation efforts, and implementation of fuels management treatments and activities. This involves training, monitoring, or implementing/maintaining fuels management on federal land or adjacent non-federal land to benefit federal resources, as well as assisting with wildfire prevention to mitigate risks to communities and their values. Additionally, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has an opportunity to collaborate with partner organizations to support these efforts, reducing the intensity, severity, risk, and impact of catastrophic wildfires on local communities through coordination, hazardous fuel reduction, and further education on wildfire prevention. These activities help create jobs and advance conservation and restoration efforts through planning and implementation of hazardous fuels reduction projects. This work aligns with administration priorities by strengthening partnerships, encouraging local wildfire preparedness and mitigation, and empowering community-driven wildfire risk reduction, while generating revenue and utilizing natural resources to support the American economy.

Bureau of Land Management

Priority activities under this announcement include projects that support Executive Order (EO) 14225 Immediate Expansion of American Timber Production and Section 50301 of The One Big Beautiful Bill. This program focuses on activities that promote forest and woodland health, sustainable forest management, fire resiliency, biomass utilization for bioenergy, habitat conservation needs, and insect, disease and fire recovery on public lands. These activities could include, but are not limited to: planting trees, pre-commercial and commercial thinning, salvage/sanitation harvest, control of competing vegetation, fuels reduction, project development and layout, planning analysis and document preparation needed in concert with or to carry out NEPA, and Endangered Species Act or cultural clearances.

Indian Health Service

The Tribal Management Grant program aims to prepare tribes and tribal organizations for assuming all or part of existing Indian Health Service programs functions services and activities under the Public Law 93 638 Indian Self Determination and Education Assistance Act as amended and to further develop and improve their health management capabilities. The Indian Health Service intends to issue five to sixteen awards under this program announcement.

Bureau of Land Management

Public lands managed by the BLM offer exceptional and unique recreational experiences that benefit the American public while supporting local communities and their economies. The Recreation and Visitor Services Program is prioritizing the implementation of Administration priorities and key legislation, including the Expanding Public Lands Outdoor Recreation Experiences Act (EXPLORE Act), the Great American Outdoors Act, and the John D. Dingell, Jr. Conservation, Management, and Recreation Act. In fiscal year 2026, the BLM will focus on supporting projects that align with administration priorities and these recreation related laws. It is essential to note that all project submissions must specifically enhance recreation and visitor services on BLM-managed public lands and improve the overall experience for BLM visitors to be considered for funding.
