The Green Lake Advisory Council will enhance the Pathway of Lights event with a hot air balloon (night glow) show on the playfields at Green Lake. Hot air balloons will be set up at dusk and inflated as if they are going to take off, but instead of being allowed to ascend they will be tethered to the ground. The balloons will glow like huge light bulbs or lanterns, giving a spectacular display for Pathway of Lights visitors. The event is on December 9th from 4:30pm to 9:30pm at the Greenlake Community Center, 7201 East Greenlake Drive North.

This free special event marks the start of the winter season and has become a lauded community tradition. At sunset, Green Lake is transformed with 2.8 miles of luminaries into a radiant, sparkling oasis. On any given year, up to 20,000 visitors descend on Green Lake for this festive and much beloved celebration. The Green Lake Advisory Council will enhance this year's event with a hot air balloon "night glow" on the playfields at Green Lake Community.

SMPA will also organize a pickleball event at Delridge this summer or early fall.
