Eligibility

For New York State to receive this funding, under the designation of the lead agency (Department of State) a CSBG State Plan is submitted on behalf of the Secretary of State (by the designated Director for the Division of Community Services), hold at least one public hearing for the period of the Plan, to provide an opportunity to comment on the proposed use of funds covered by the Plan, and hold at least one legislative hearing every 3 years in conjunction with the development of the Plan. The Plan must provide assurances (from the State) that funds, made available through the grant, support activities designed to assist low-income families and individuals.
