We are proposing to work with community members & consultants to evolve the Chamber & a proposed Capitol Hill Business Improvement Area (BIA) to directly serve the Capitol Hill businesses, residents, nonprofits, & arts organizations in this very dense, challenging & rapidly growing neighborhood.

Hip Hop is Green

Hip Hop is Green will host the first annual, free-of-cost, Cherry Street Block Party: a one-day community celebration on September 6, 2025 on East Cherry Street between 24th and 26th Avenues. The purpose of the Cherry Street Block Party is to build community and social cohesion for local organizations, artists, chefs, and small businesses who focus on uplifting and empowering Black and Brown families in Seattle’s Central District. The CD is Seattle’s historically Black neighborhood and has faced ongoing waves of gentrification. Luckily, there is a growing community movement to reclaim the CD as a hub for Black culture and resilience. Hip Hop is Green will produce the event, working collaboratively with a roster of 16+ partner organizations. Programming will include food demos and samples, wellness workshops, booths with information about community programs, and live performances. This project will be completed by October 31, 2025.

Sea-Mar Community Health Center

Fiestas Patrias is a free two-day cultural festival where the community to comes together to celebrate Latin American arts, culture and heritage through music, dance, food and more. Fiestas Patrias begins with a community parade and festival in the predominately Latino South Park neighborhood on Saturday September 16th from 11am-6pm at 1040 S. Henderson St. followed by a community fiesta with concerts, folk dancers, children's arts and crafts, and a health fair at the Seattle Center 305 Harrison St. from noon- 9pm on Saturday September 16th and noon-6pm on Sunday September 17th.

Tet in Seattle

Tet in Seattle will organize the annual Tet in Seattle Festival, a free event that celebrates the cultural roots of Vietnamese Americans through recognizing the Lunar New Year. The two- day festival will be held Saturday, January 18, and Sunday January 19, 2020 from 11am to 6pm at Seattle Center (305 Harrison St). It will feature a health fair, art, music, entertainment, and foods that are unique to the Vietnamese Community.

Gay City Health Project

The Emerge Arts Showcase offers emerging performance-based artists production and artistic mentorship and support alongside business and sustainability training. This framework will create a festival that is informed by, and seeks to address, artists' access to health and sustainability (as measured by social determinants of health) alongside artistic development and production. The anticipated project completion is August 31, 2022.

Amt Up 3D

The first annual Double Dutch Divas Clothes & Coat Drive will take place at the Benefit Playground located at 9320 38th Ave S Seattle WA 98118 on October 30, 2021 from 2 to 7pm. The event includes music, healthy snacks, hot coco, tea and lots of fun.

Friends of Rainier Valley Creative District

The Friends of Rainer Valley Creative District are hosting the 2023 Rainier Valley Community Arts Resource Fair (Arts Resource Fair) will take place on Sunday, August 20, 2023 in Columbia Park (located at the north end of Rainier Valley) from 11AM to 7PM. This is a full day multi-purpose event that will provide arts, culture, education, health, legal, housing, and business resources to the general public with a particular focus on the needs of creative businesses in the Rainier Valley.
