About This Grant
Garinagu Houngua will organize a series of weekly workshops centered on cultural exchange between the Garifuna and Panamanian communities in Seattle. The workshops will take place from September through November 2017 at Casa Latina located at 317 17th Ave S. They will feature presentations on the music, language, history, and food of each culture. The workshops will culminate in a final event on November 25, 2017 featuring historians sharing their perspectives on these rich cultures.
