Seattle Dragon Boat Festival 2026

The Seattle Dragon Boat Festival is scheduled for Saturday, June 13, 2026 located at Lake Union Park. 860 Terry Ave N. as a celebration of Asian sport and culture! The traditional Chinese Dragon Boat Festival, also known as the Duanwu Festival, commemorates the ancient poet Qu Yuan. The festival is hosted by the Seattle Flying Dragon Boat Club, whose mission is to further awareness and participation in the sport of dragon boating. Dragon boat clubs from WA, OR, Canada, and perhaps Hong Kong or Taiwan will register for the races. This will be an all-day event, that is free and open to the public.

The third event on October 12, 2017 at Seattle University is a collaboration with The Guanajuato International Film Festival of Mexico and will screen seven short documentaries produced by universities in Mexico.

Rooted in the values of equity, imagination, and joy, this project will advance arts equity and provide arts access to communities that have historically been excluded from the arts by using theater as a tool for equity and inclusion. The virtual event will be free and expect to reach at least 2,000 households on both a local and national scale. Project completion date will be February 28, 2022.
