National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

Grants for prevention, removal, and research of marine debris, including community-based cleanups, derelict fishing gear removal, and debris monitoring.

Downtown Seattle Association

The Downtown Seattle Association will install wayfinding blade signs, historic markers, and sidewalk design features along the pedestrian corridor from the Pike Place Market to the Museum of History and Industry (primarily Bell St, Denny Way, and Westlake Ave). Input on corridor branding elements will be gathered at community events, including the September 30 Wooden Boat Festival in South Lake Union Park. Elements will be installed by September 2019, and a community celebration will be held.

RV Steering Committee

Over a six month period the Rainier Vista Steering Committee (RVSC) will facilitate 12 virtual workshops on subsequent Saturdays for youth ages 11-17. The project will begin January of 2021 and will run through June. Participants will share stories about their life experiences since Covid-19 using art, literature photography and spoken word. A booklet of reflections will be produced and shared with the community.

Friends of Maple Elementary School

Friends of Maple Elementary School will hire a landscape architect/master plan designer and conduct extensive outreach to receive input on proposed improvements to the school grounds. Goals are to improve access routes to the school (4925 Corson Ave S) and to increase the outdoor usability of the school site for students, neighbors, and community groups. A master plan will be completed by March 2019, and construction documents for the first phase of improvements will be prepared by May 2019.

Maynard Alley Partnership (MAP)

The Maynard Alley Partnership, a group of community stakeholders and leaders, and the SCIDpda are partnering with Dr. Jeff Hou's UW Landscape Architecture studio class to study concepts to improve Maynard Alley. This project aligns with the community's work over recent years to revitalize its alleys. Once implemented, the changes will make Maynard Alley safer and more usable for pedestrians and community members. This project will be completed by September 30, 2019.

45th Ave NE Neighborhood Safety Taskforce

The 45th Ave NE Neighborhood Safety Taskforce will hire a traffic engineering consultant to assist in leading a visioning process with the community. They will solicit input from neighborhood stakeholders about how best to address traffic and pedestrian safety concerns on 45th Ave NE. This roadway is a major pedestrian and bike route serving three public schools.

Meadowbrook Emergency Hub

The Meadowbrook Emergency Hub group will install a community emergency hub at the Maple Leaf Lutheran Church (10005 32nd Ave NE) in the parking lot, serving Meadowbrook and surrounding communities. The hub box and supplies will support 2,000+ homes. They will be installed by April 2018, and the Meadowbrook hub group will host a community celebration in the late spring.

Meadowbrook Emergency Hub

Meadowbrook Community Hub will recruit and train volunteers in emergency readiness skills. Community trainings will be held from 7 pm - 9 pm on September 10 and October 8, 2019 at Meadowbrook Community Center located at 10517 35th Ave NE.

Freeway Park Association

Freeway Park Association seeks funding to support three complementary projects happening in Freeway Park Dec 24-June 25. We will illuminate pathways with heritage tree lighting; illuminate art and create connections with a community festival; and illuminate history with shared stories and educational signage. The projects include 1. Foundational winter lighting for public delight and much needed safety, and to create a backdrop for our March art activation; 2. An illuminated art event in March entitled `Meeting at the Balance` supporting 6-9 artists/artist teams' art installations, performances, and art making workshops; 3. Creating public education materials about the social and political history of the park and the details of the Park's renovation which is slated for May 25. Meeting at the Balance will energize and illuminate the park, empower and fund local artists and also educate the community about the future and past of Freeway Park at this moment of expansion and change.

206 Zulu

During President's Day weekend of 2019, 206 Zulu will host the Meeting of the Minds Community Arts Forum at historic Washington Hall,153 14th Avenue. This weekend of intensive programming will bring together local leaders, artists, youth, families and nationally recognized pioneers in urban arts activism. The free community showcase will include guest speakers, panels, presentations, art displays and performances from both emerging and established musicians, artists and dancers.

Meridian Neighbors

As a traffic calming measure, the Meridian Neighbors will organize volunteers, buy supplies, and paint a curb bulb installed by the Seattle Department of Transportation at Meridian Avenue North and North 45th Street. This project will be completed by September 30, 2019.

Meridian Neighbors

Meridian Neighbors will hire a traffic design consultant to help design traffic calming measures for the area around the block of Meridian Ave. N between N 44th St. and N 45th St. in Wallingford. There will be a series of community meetings and site walks and coordination with SDOT. The consultant study will be completed by June 2018.

My Mother's Garden P-Patch

Our P- Patch Garden has been part of the P-Patch Program for many years. We are Mien, Lao and Khmu. Now we are the daughters, sons and grandchildren of our grandmothers who were the first gardeners in this P-Patch. We lived in relocation camps before coming to the USA after the Vietnam war. P-Patch helped us to have gardening space and spoke to City Light so we could have this garden. We now call the garden Maa Nyei lai Ndeic (Mien for OUR MOTHER'S GARDEN). We want $5,000.00 to Sponsor a celebration for 50 years of P-Patch. this Pot-Luck Party will be held August 19th, 2023 from 12 PM - 3 PM at the Our Mother's P-Patch Garden-4913 Columbia Dr. S. Seattle. For this event we will: 1-Buy fertilizer for our gardens, to grow healthy food for the event and to put food on our tables. 2- Celebrate and share community we already have and to grow new community in our garden. We want to invite our neighbors and all P-Patch gardeners to come and share their food and garden stories with us.

Mini Mart City Park

Mini Mart Art Attacks will be held from Sept 2023-April 2024 with curated monthly event series centered around local art, food, and community. All events will be free-of-cost. Each month will include: (1) a gallery exhibit showcasing a local artist, (2) a public art experience or workshop, and (3) a community meal prepared by a local chef. At the end of the series, we will curate a booklet showcasing featured artists, chefs and community members who participated throughout the project. Copies will be available for free to the community.

Mini Mart City Park

Mini Mart City Park (MMCP), located at 6525 Ellis Ave S Seattle WA, is a place for the arts, education, environmental action, and community collaboration in the Duwamish Valley. Once fully constructed, MMCP plans to advocate for creativity and public health through art exhibits, residencies, environmental action, and locally-focused programs. Phase 3 of the project is to fund the building's exterior finishes. The anticipated completion date is June 30, 2021.

Mini Mart City Park

The Mini Mart City Organization is planning a physical improvement at 6525 Ellis Ave South, to transform a former gas station into publicly accessible pocket park and arts-oriented community center in Georgetown. The main goal is to offer this space to help to prevent residential, commercial, and cultural displacement in this community by serving as a hub for community programs, gatherings, and public conversations. Phase III construction is expected to be done by the end of 2019, and they will open to the public first quarter of 2020.

Grants to support the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children and related programs for locating and recovering missing children.

Urban League of Metropolitan Seattle

The Martin Luther King Jr. Commemoration Committee will present the annual community-focused observance of the MLK 57th Anniversary of the March on Washington. To be held virtually at Converge Media Studios located at 1437 S. Jackson St. Suite 100 on August 28th. The purpose of the event is to commemorate the Historic March on Washington, and the Civil Rights Movement but to also acknowledge local community leaders that embody the principles of Dr. King in their daily lives.

Morgan Junction All Wheels Association

The Morgan Junction community has expressed overwhelming public support for adding an All-Wheels Recreation Area to the Morgan Junction Park. This project is a feasibility study of the addition of an All - Wheels Recreation Area to the park. The study will recommend specific direction in the design and integration of a free, public all-wheels terrain at the Morgan Junction Park.

Morgan Community Association

The 19th Annual Morgan Junction Community Festival will be held June 14, 2025 from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM at Morgan Junction Park located at 6413 California Ave SW. This grant will provide funding for the entertainment at this annual festival, including a student band from West Seattle High School "The Potholes” and a local senior citizen "Bubbleman". The festival fosters community by welcoming new residents and reconnecting with neighbors through a one day fun event focused on children and young families. The festival also raises awareness of local non-profits, fosters emergency preparedness, highlights near term City of Seattle and King County upcoming elections, provides community feedback on critical issues such as Morgan Junction Park Annex design and the One Seattle Plan for Morgan Junction Urban Center. This project will be completed by July 31, 2025.

Morgan Community Association (MoCA)

The Morgan Community Association will host the Morgan Junction Festival on June 22, 2019 from 10am - 4pm at Morgan Junction Park located at 6413 California Ave SW. The free event will feature interactive arts and crafts activities for youth.

Mount Baker Community Club

The Mount Baker Community Club will install double-pane windows as well as upgrade exterior exit lighting at the Mount Baker Community Club House located at 2711 Mt. Rainier Drive South. These improvements will increase energy efficiency and security, reduce noise impacts to neighbors, and enhance the clubhouse's ability to host community programs and events.

Mount Baker Business District Association

The Mount Baker Hub Business Association will produce a business district festival, with City-sanctioned tactical urbanism installations, that works to promote the Mount Baker Hub business district and develops a sense of community and place around the Mount Baker Light Rail Station.

Mainstreaming Menopause Advocacy Collective

The M Factor is a powerful film exploring the experiences of Black women and nonbinary people who face the challenges of perimenopause and menopause. This screening aims to provide an open, inclusive, and empowering space for Black women and nonbinary people, to find education, support, and discussion around a topic that is often overlooked but deeply impactful to our community. The screening will be held at Langston Hughes Performing Arts Institute located at 104 17th Ave S, Seattle, WA 98144 on March 16, 2025, from Noon to 4pm.
