Cal Anderson Park Alliance (CAPA) manages the Cathy Hillenbrand Community Room, per agreement with Community Roots Housing, which owns the building located at 131 10th Ave E Seattle WA. We make the space available for free for most community uses (charging a nominal fee only for events that charge participants). The room is a wonderful community asset, but it lacks amenities that some users need, such as AV equipment, reliable wifi, etc. This grant will help us purchase quality equipment and other meeting supply necessities so we can continue to make the space available at no charge for most users. The anticipated project completion date is March 31, 2026.

This event will be a one-night outdoor gallery space during the May 12th Ballard ArtWalk in Bergen Place Park 5420 22nd Avenue NW. It will be a tented event due to temperamental weather and will provide one musical act and 5-10 visual artists displaying their work. A successful event will create a space that temporarily activates the park and also provides a stage for some of the community's cultural assets. It is a small project with a lot of heart. Local creatives come to sell their art, the music draws in passersby, and the centralized park is temporarily activated to be a vibrant cultural hub for the night. The project will be completed by June 29, 2018.
