Urban League of Metropolitan Seattle

The Martin Luther King Jr. Commemoration Committee will present the annual community-focused observance of the MLK 57th Anniversary of the March on Washington. To be held virtually at Converge Media Studios located at 1437 S. Jackson St. Suite 100 on August 28th. The purpose of the event is to commemorate the Historic March on Washington, and the Civil Rights Movement but to also acknowledge local community leaders that embody the principles of Dr. King in their daily lives.

Molina Healthcare

Supports health access and community health programs for low-income and underserved populations in Molina service areas.

Morgan Junction All Wheels Association

The Morgan Junction community has expressed overwhelming public support for adding an All-Wheels Recreation Area to the Morgan Junction Park. This project is a feasibility study of the addition of an All - Wheels Recreation Area to the park. The study will recommend specific direction in the design and integration of a free, public all-wheels terrain at the Morgan Junction Park.

Morgan Community Association

The 19th Annual Morgan Junction Community Festival will be held June 14, 2025 from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM at Morgan Junction Park located at 6413 California Ave SW. This grant will provide funding for the entertainment at this annual festival, including a student band from West Seattle High School "The Potholes” and a local senior citizen "Bubbleman". The festival fosters community by welcoming new residents and reconnecting with neighbors through a one day fun event focused on children and young families. The festival also raises awareness of local non-profits, fosters emergency preparedness, highlights near term City of Seattle and King County upcoming elections, provides community feedback on critical issues such as Morgan Junction Park Annex design and the One Seattle Plan for Morgan Junction Urban Center. This project will be completed by July 31, 2025.

Morgan Community Association (MoCA)

The Morgan Community Association will host the Morgan Junction Festival on June 22, 2019 from 10am - 4pm at Morgan Junction Park located at 6413 California Ave SW. The free event will feature interactive arts and crafts activities for youth.

Mount Baker Community Club

The Mount Baker Community Club will install double-pane windows as well as upgrade exterior exit lighting at the Mount Baker Community Club House located at 2711 Mt. Rainier Drive South. These improvements will increase energy efficiency and security, reduce noise impacts to neighbors, and enhance the clubhouse's ability to host community programs and events.

Mount Baker Business District Association

The Mount Baker Hub Business Association will produce a business district festival, with City-sanctioned tactical urbanism installations, that works to promote the Mount Baker Hub business district and develops a sense of community and place around the Mount Baker Light Rail Station.

Mainstreaming Menopause Advocacy Collective

The M Factor is a powerful film exploring the experiences of Black women and nonbinary people who face the challenges of perimenopause and menopause. This screening aims to provide an open, inclusive, and empowering space for Black women and nonbinary people, to find education, support, and discussion around a topic that is often overlooked but deeply impactful to our community. The screening will be held at Langston Hughes Performing Arts Institute located at 104 17th Ave S, Seattle, WA 98144 on March 16, 2025, from Noon to 4pm.

SV Archive (dba Scarecrow Video)

Movies By the Tower is a four-movie series every Saturday night in August at Maple Leaf Reservoir Park. Maple Leaf Community Council and Scarecrow Video are teaming up to provide an exciting cinematic experience under the stars, which promises fun and entertainment for the whole community to enjoy. Folks are invited to immerse themselves in the rich tapestry of Asian and Asian-North American storytelling through four specially selected films. Our primary goal is to foster inclusivity and create an event that authentically represents the diversity of our community. Each evening will also include pre-show music and presentations or activities to give attendees more opportunities to connect with one another. Screenings are free and open to all with an emphasis on family-friendly fare.

Friends of Safe Access: Street to Park

Friends of Safe Access: Street to Park are applying for funding to construct Phase I of the community-supported design which will include new stairs, guardrails, and a lower integrated path into Mount Baker Park.

Muddy Lotus Festival

The Muddy Lotus Art planning committee will organize a free community art celebration featuring performances, demonstrations, and instruction in various artistic genres including painting, clay arts, and creative movement. It will be held on July 7, 2018 from 1 pm - 6 pm at Pritchard Island Beach located at 8400 55th Ave S.

Kandelia

On May 31st Kandelia is hosting our first ever multilingual learner (MLL) graduation celebration, honoring the hard work and achievements of MLL graduates from across the Seattle Public School district. This event is free to attend, open to the public, and will be held at Jefferson Park, located at 3801 Beacon Ave S, Seattle, WA 98108 from 11am to 3pm. This is an opportunity for friends, family, and the community to come together in solidarity, support, and celebration. We'll have food, cultural performances, games, tabling and resources from other community organizations, and more.

East African Art and Culture Association

Outdated computers will be replaced and multimedia design software purchased to provide youth and families in Central and South Seattle with training in graphic design, video production, and DVD development.

East African youth ages 13-22 will learn multimedia video production skills and produce their own television programs using new equipment.

Rainier Beach Link2Lake Open Space Steering Committee

The Rainier Beach Link2Lake Open Space Steering Committee is engaging young people from the Rainier Beach area to create a mural on the Beer Sheva Park Restroom, located at 8702 Seward Park Ave S. This project creates an opportunity for area youth to showcase their abilities as professional artists and create a mural that is a unique reflection upon Rainier Beach for locals and visitors to enjoy for generations. The mural will be painted June 2021.

Seattle Chinatown International District Preservation and Development Authority

Community murals at 13th & Fir Family Housing is a collaborative effort between 206 Zulu and The Seattle Chinatown International District Preservation and Development Authority (SCIDpda). We aim to design, develop and execute public art for the forthcoming 13th & Fir Family Housing, a 6 story building providing space for 156 low-income family-sized apartment units, community-based commercial and retail services, and a childcare center. This project will create large scale art that is impactful and reflective of the immediate neighborhoods' collective values and diverse community. The art implementation will happen in phases as more funding is secured. This grant supports Phase I of the project. Phase I is anticipated to be completed by December 31, 2023.

Institute of Museum and Library Services

Grants to museums of all types to strengthen their ability to serve the public through exhibitions, education, collections stewardship, and community engagement.

Friends of the Ballard Civic Orchestra

The Friends of Ballard Civic Orchestra will connect community members of all ages and cultural backgrounds to Latino culture. They will organize an eight-month youth orchestra series and a community orchestra for adult participants from fall 2018 to spring 2019. There will be approximately five public performances celebrating culturally significant events. The project activities will take place at Sunset Hill Community Center located at 3003 NW 66th St and other locations to be determined.

Friends of Music of the Americas

The project will offer a series of four free and inclusive arts and culture events in March, May, September, and December 2024 at accessible and welcoming Seattle venues, including Town Hall. The events will feature special guest artists and composers of South and Central America and will celebrate their diverse cultures with classical and traditional orchestra, voice/choral, and dance performances as well as poetry readings and original art.

Na'ah Illahee Fund

Na'ah Illahee Fund will conduct sediment and soil testing on the 20-acre parcel of land at the Daybreak Star Indian Cultural Center and will remove invasive plants and plant species that will enhance the teaching space for Native youth and the community. This project will be completed by 12/31/18.

Seattle-Nantes Sister City Association

The project will transform a small, rarely used pocket park, located at 5062 SW Admiral Way Seattle WA, into something that is fun, kid-friendly, accessible, and reflective of the sister city relationship with Nantes, France. This project will produce final construction plans followed by project implementation. The anticipated project completion date is November 30, 2021.

Seattle-Nantes Sister City Association

The Seattle-Nantes Sister City Association will develop a concept design for the addition of temporary French art and plantings at Nantes Park, located at 5062 SW Admiral Way, Seattle WA 98116. The work is expected to be completed by May 2020.

Northwest Arts Streaming Hub

Northwest Arts Streaming Hub, (NASH), will produce an 8-episode season of NASH at Nite, a youth-curated, all-ages variety show that prioritizes local BIPOC artists. The goal of the project is to provide career-connected learning opportunities to youth who are interested in content creation, live streaming, and digital producing, along with free quality virtual entertainment during this pandemic crisis. This project will be completed by September 30, 2021.
