The improvements will include a dedicated community area, with ergonomic and safety upgrades to make restoration work accessible to all. These enhancements will strengthen community bonds, improve volunteer experience, and expand our impact in keeping furniture in circulation for the benefit of all Seattle residents. The mural will be created through a collaborative design and painting process that will include Urban ArtWorks youth, Base Crew artists, professional teaching artists, and residents of the Crown Hill neighborhood and surrounding community. The project will include cleaning and preparing the wall, designing a mural through community input, and painting the large-scale design on the wall on several volunteer Community Paint Days in early summer 2026. The anticipated project complete date is 9/30/2026.

Composting Toilet for Washington Park Arboretum

The Arboretum Foundation will install an environmentally-friendly composting toilet system in the area adjacent to the Pacific Connections Gardens in the Washington Park Arboretum located at 2300 Arboretum Drive East.
