Multnomah County Library
This project will plan culturally appropriate library services for Multnomah County's Black residents by conducting a needs assessment, in collaboration with other service providers and agencies, to seek information and guidance from community members and leaders. Recommendations from this planning grant, when implemented, will help to ensure that young children from at-risk Black families are ready to learn to read by kindergarten, and that these children receive the needed early literacy interventions and support to make the crucial transition from their preschool years to kindergarten.
