University of Oregon Libraries
In May, 2011 the University of Oregon Libraries asked for funding for a high-speed microfilm digitization machine. The machine would be used in conjunction with the Oregon Digital Newspaper Program. The machine would support digitization of smaller historic newspapers as well as personal documents or manuscripts. It extends the University of Oregon’s ability to act as a service center and provide digitization services for local libraries and historical societies; linking these processes with set standards of digitization, description, and access recommendations.
