A) Layoff aversion by introducing the Shared Work Program to downsizing businesses regardless if a New York State WARN (Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification) is filed or not. B) Should layoffs not be avoided, initiate intensive job placement assistance for affected workers (private or public sector) attached to a downsizing or closure. Job focused training opportunities, e.g., Dislocated Worker funding, Trade Adjustment Assistance, are also considered when relevant to the customerƒ??s reemployment plan. Related onsite service is emphasized before layoffs occur.
