Youth learn how to apply, interview and accept a job offer. They also learn skills specific to the job they have, such as working in the facility kitchen, as a teacher assistant, with maintenance, or as a recreation assistant.ÿThey learn to fill out timecards correctly and keep track of their hourly wages. Raises are based on performance and earning of nationally recognized certificates or credentials. The starting wage is .50 and can increase up to $3 per hour. 368 youth in DJJOY facilities participated in the On-the-Job training program this year.
