NYS Office of Children and Family Services
Funding is allocated to OCFS Residential Facilities for programs that enhance learning activities for youth in care. Enhancement programs promote positivity within NYS DJJOY facilities, expose youth to real world activities and prepare them to return to the community. Enhancement programs provide a plethora of activities and experiences they may have been unfamiliar with prior to OCFS DJJOY placement. Enhancement funding is also used as a tool for the youth in placement to earn certifications in several areas of possible employment. The programs are well attended by the youth and also promote postive interpersonal relations with their peers and facility staff.
