Project Summary/Abstract This application is to purchase a Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM) for the Center for Advanced Microscopy (CAM) at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine, which has been supporting TEM with a FEI TECNAI Spirit G2 since 2006. Sixteen NIH-funded investigators need this instrument at CAM to support their 33 NIH funded projects. The current instrument has been essential for their research as demonstrated by their multiple publications in both basic and applied science fields. The acquisition of a new TEM would enhance the research of these investigators and others, ensuring that they can continue to do their work with the highest quality instrumentation.
