Friends of Picardo Farms P-patch
Community gardens should be designed so that they are inclusive and enjoyed by everyone regardless of age or physical ability. Picardo's goal is to be a public, welcoming, inclusive, and safe space serving over 500 gardeners and visitors from 2-90+ years of age. Last year the plots adjacent to our accessible raised beds were vacated, and we will now use that area to expand the number and variety of accessible raised beds. We have a wait list for such beds, so this will be a much-needed and long-awaited improvement. It will allow more seniors and persons with disabilities to join the community and extend their gardening careers. This project is entirely volunteer driven by our gardening community. This project will be completed by June 30, 2023.
