The Japantown Neighbors have initiated the Japantown Identity project to recognize the legacy of 8,000 Japanese immigrants and descendants who created a vibrant community known as Japantown before WWII.The project is located at 604 S Jackson St sought funding to establish Japantown as an important cultural destination. The project is free and open to the public, and will be completed in late Summer of 2022.
