About This Grant

Rainier Valley Greenways and Safe Streets will implement planning and outreach efforts to demonstrate public support for the construction of traffic controlling swing gates at three locations on Lake Washington Blvd. : 1) South of Mt. Baker Beach, 2) North of 43rd Ave. South 3) East of Lakewood Ave. South on South Horton Street as it enters Lake Washington Blvd. These gates will replace inadequate temporary barricades while the boulevard is closed to motor vehicles during Bicycle Weekends and other Seattle Parks and Recreation programmed events. Rainier Valley Greenways and Safe Streets will also provide designs for gate signage to inform street users. This project will be completed by November 30, 2025.
