ROOTS Celebration Committee
ROOTS Celebration is a one day, annual cultural event that invites citywide communities to participate in activities that merges the music, art and tradition of the African diaspora and supports intergenerational exchange with particular celebration for Northwest African American heritage. The acronym is derived from Relatives Of Old TimerS, as the event draws descendents of Seattle’s earliest African American families.
