Eritrean Association of Greater Seattle

The Eritrean Association of Greater Seattle will construct improvements to the Eritrean Association Community Center located at 1954 South Massachusetts Ave., including remodel of an outdoor community gathering area and improvements to the center's large hall. These improvements will make the Center's facility, including indoor and outdoor spaces, an inviting venue for community events and educational activities. The center is a vital hub for cultural activities and other community gatherings for the Eritrean community, the broader immigrant/refugee community, and surrounding neighbors.

Eritrean Association of Greater Seattle

The Eritrean Association of Greater Seattle will organize an Eritrean Independence Day Celebration at Seward Park on May 25, 2019. The family-friendly event will feature Eritrean singers and musicians, local Eritrean children and youth performing traditional dances, poetry readings, drama, and a showcase of visual arts. There will be a soccer tournament the preceding weekend, May 18-19. Several thousand people are expected to attend the festival and tournament.

The Eritrean Association of Greater Seattle located at 1954 S Massachusetts will with this project make improvements to the facility that includes replacing the parking lot exit gate, repainting interior walls of the entry way, and strip and wax the floors of the large hall. The improvements are vital to the community as it will keep a unique community space safe in working order for community events, civic engagement activities, and food and nutrition programs.

The Eritrean Association of Greater Seattle will be making repairs to the Eritrean Association's Community Center, located at 1954 S. Massachusetts St. The center is a vital hub for cultural activities and other community gatherings for the Eritrean community, the broader immigrant/refugee community, and surrounding neighbors. This project, will improve the Community Center by repairing issues in the parking lot and main hall. There will be a tree removal, concrete and fencing repair, 2) address drainage issues, regrading and asphalting, and 3) replacement of exit gate. There will also be window replacement in the main hall, surface repairs and repainting. These improvements will keep the community space safe and in working order for community use. This project will be completed by late fall 2022.
